Don't you think that college friends are as superficial as it can get? Don't you think that, while you develop a deeper relationship with each and every one of them, there's just this steadfast barrier telling you, that they're just from your course, that's all.
You'd like to hear gossips about what new hookups they're having, or how much of their imported premium chocolates you could have a taste at. Perhaps help them with their assignments. Or maybe at least talk to them about their career path choice after Final Year. But all of a sudden. This inner frown, this jolt of isolation, takes you aback and resets your perception towards the relationship you've been having with this 'friend'. And now you're like "what the balls? Who is this person to tell me to shut up?" You find it impossible and reasonless to even think of any sort of forgiveness or submission, over a tiny matter that sparked off from say, you giving ideas in a discussion group. Because this person, is just my college friend. What do I owe to that?
You still buy presents, you still buy birthday cakes; they still pick you up on the way to school they still call you out for lunch. But how many of them answer your call letting you know that they'd rush over to you if you were crying your eyeliners out? How many of them would pull you behind them and tell a bully to mind their own business? How many of them would defend you in a criss-crossing, backstabbing situation, because he or she just knows that deep inside of you, you didn't mean anything harsh, or you just made a mistake and you're sensitive enough to learn from it with newborn diligence?
You can count the number of friends you tell yourself you actually have. But you can't actually have the number of friends you tell yourself you count. And that is because there are just some people out there who may have more knowledge, more wisdom, or skill than you, but all they know what to do is to use them to satisfy their selfish needs.
So what to do?
Well, that's miraculously simple. Just forgive and submit.
Gather all your energy into a prayer of some sort, and look up to a greater power, to guide you on your quest for salvation in these beings to whom you submit and forgive. And finally, release the tension from your soul and just reply his/her text message with "Okay thanks".
And after that, who gives a shit about what happens next?
He's/she's just someone in your course. That's all.
=)
