Following the stressful and relieving end (hopefully) of my ACCA life, we organized a little getaway to ChaoMei land where cacti, strawberry jam and breathstealing views are blissful.

In that picture is our World Prize winner, PAS leader (Parti Anti-Social) and award-winning unique poser. I present to you, Lisa Khoo Poh Yin

Next up, we have our most beloved glam queen, Chiang Sze May!

always munching

Let's get another zoom on that.

"Steam me up, scotty,"

Hundreds of ringgit spent on junkfood at the supermarket, back in KL. Barely got to finish it. HuiLeng's fault

That is HuiLeng. Retardism

I have been BEEEEEE ZEEEEEEEE zomg why do I always give excuses that I have not enough time in a day. Gosh, if I just stopped texting so much, typing facebook.com so much, standing in the LRT doing nothing so much, msn-ing so much, WORKING so much....

I would be free.

-er.

But time does have its mysterious and peculiar ways of revealing the omnipotence of faith in confidence and concentration in whatever I do. Well then, I'll just have to believe, don't I! But anyway, that's another story to tell.

Next up...

Egypt/Dubai Trip 2008 (Continued)

Hello world. I'm back from the dead. Well, actually i'm back from the land of lazy bloggers, and I intend to re-dedicate myself to the hardworking-bloggers community. So, hello world. =]

Here's more of my Egypt trip I went for, 1 234 567 890 years ago.

This is the Citadel, Mohamed Ali Mosque. It's at the top of a hill, overlooking Cairo's (a city in Egypt, in case we all forgot) scenic town. The view inside, is even more scenic.

The domes, carvings, statues, lights and the whole package amazed everyone. 9 out of 10 people who entered the mosque immediately looked upwards in awe, and said "AWE AM JEE". If I had a wider lens and a tripod, I would have been able to start selling postcards okay.

It apparently looks scorching hot in the above picture, with the 'scenic' view of the dry town and eroding ruins of building, but it was less than 20 degrees celsius there. Chee Buy.

He's not kneeling on the pole. He's doing a kawaii jump.

After lotsa picture-taking and following the tour group around, understanding and remembering less than 4% of what the tour guide said, we hopped back on the bus and some machas started to sell us some papyrus paper paintings. Not face-to-face, but from the outside.

"HEY YO, WANNA GO SMOKE A JOINT AND BUY SOME PAPYRUS?"

Now that's what I call, window-shopping.

That's part of the Nile River, if my memory serves me correctly.

We then moved on to a bazaar on the other side of town, called the Khan Khalili Bazaar. Wow. that's what I call an Arabic Bangkok man. Can find all sorts of shit there. Even this.

Like. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!

Pyramid Vuitton ar?!

They're quite rough over there... pull you, shout at you, persuade kao-kao you... everything lah. There's one dude also... we thought he was damn cool haha.. he was holding out a tshirt, calling out to a woman walking away from him in the rapidly jostling,

"Esscuussee me miss, I hab your size!!

Saw all kinds of elements of the different cultures across the globe. But we couldn't snap fast enough.

This lane has a cafe on the left, lined with stools and coffee tables 50metres along the way. Every table had at least one shisha pipe. Dammnnn strong the flavours. Mint la, chocolate la, strawberry la... I think there was ginger also.

KknCcb.

Some unknown fellow photographers.

Okaaaayyyy. Mocks next week.

Die die die die die die die die die die die

I'll be buck.

It was actually COLD in the dessert

I finished class at 6pm and endured the rush hour back home. All 5 of us were non-stop scrambling for every possible thing we could think of packing, and finally at 11pm, the cab dude started honking.

Flew via Emirates to Dubai for a 4-hour transit. Could almost see the green mould forming on my skin throughout my stoning. Watched 2 episodes of grey's.

From Dubai, it was another 3 or so hours to Cairo (Egypt) so we more shows to watch on the plane. Or more headaches to get. Did I tell you I get headaches every single time I ride a plane. It's like. too cramped in the economy class or something. Mehhhhhh

Stepped out of the plane, temperature at the airport was decent. Exited customs into the baggage claim area, still decent. Exited the airport main entrance, ma balls shrank instantly.

FUYOOHHHHHH cold until my tits cut diamond! It is not a good idea to stand in the shade without heat from the sun with the wind blowing in your face...

Ah. the feeling of being in countries where they face the air-conditioners outwards from inside buildings. Freezing outside and hot inside. Pleasantness.

Ate some lousy set meal at TGIF. It was like chuck fun (economy rice), just a little more neat and expensive. But luckily everything was paid for.

Visited the national museum of Cairo, containing dono how many trillion monuments and statues and carvings and sarcophagus caskets and noisy tourists and. A stashed Olympus camera. They didn't allow recording equipment into the place.

7000 years of history, in 6 days. dayumn.

Frankly, I felt a little proud of humanity and its origins of intellectual development since the stone age. I was overwhelmed by the amazement I encountered along the journey through the museum sections.

Wah write too much thesis adi. heh. But finally I submitted it for a major review. so i can rest for... one day. or two.

Architecture and engineering at it's marvel. Fooh. I think i remember myself standing there just staring at the shapes and curves of the building's exterior design.

Ended the day at some Pyramids Park Intercontinental Hotel along some highway which had absolutely no shops within half a mile's radius. It was so cold in the night, my tits could cut lava.

More deco and interior in the hotel.

Fuih. dem sleepy already. (just came back from colbie caillat) So i shall make this quick. Visited the papyrus institute in the city to see how to make paper! out of a plant's stalk. dayumn.

It just looks like old handicapped easy-to-tear paper, but I assure you, it's almost like hard cloth. cloth can't tear, and hard can't break. but of course still can crumple la.

And thennnnnn we visited some super big giant humongous gigantic large oversized mosque which had moreeee coool architechture. wah non-stop snapping man.

The centre court within the walls of the mosque side entrance.

This one look like wallpaper. And the next one got tiny bit high dynamic range (hdr) photography. whatever that means.

holy OMG WTF BBQ SMS AOL MSN ICQ FACEBOOK YOUTUBE damn chutt sleepy. Will be back with some more pics. Sleep tight! don't let the bed bugs.... fight.

Okay wert.
3 weeks only.
Not to say like I've totally abandoned it.

Well, okay yea I DID totally abandon it for a week after I came back, but that was like HELL for me! Jet lag lah, catching up with homework lah, catching up with friends lah, classes lah, unpacking my luggage lah, sending Ken off to Adelaide again lah...
Did I mention jet lag? Yes I did. Coz I slept like a hibernating polar bear the whole week.
There was one time I slept from 10pm to 1.45pm. nearly missed a meeting with my mentor 15 minutes later.

And not to say that I should wholly blame that darn machine at home which won't allow me to upload A SINGLE DOOFING image on to Blogger, but... it's demotivating, ain't it? Wears away my mood to edit pictures and blog.

BUUUTTTTTTTT since I'm in the com lab now, I shall live up to my blog's initial misi dan visi and upload something la. So here we go.

Egypt is a place somewhere in the world where I still don't even know where it's placed on the map. I just know it's somewhere really brown.

My mom qualified for this holiday tour which was an incentive from her company to increase sales revenue, raise overall employee productivity and maintain high customer retention in the financial planning industry (wtfbbq). Throughout the trip I'd say we were sitting in the bus looking out the window more than we were walking outside that window. Like some kinda rombongan ke exhibition of ancient history in PWTC.

One thing you wouldn't want to do is to have a frigging long transit in Dubai airport. Coz everyone is sleeping beside the walkalators, laptoping at any available wall socket point, nodding off to their 10 steps to Financial Freedom motivational books.
And also super expensive shopping lah.

But luckily we were there for 4 hours only. Last time my brother's flight got delayed, he stayed there for twelve hours.

Please tell me what on earth can you do FOR TWELVE HOURS.

Totally GG man.

We visited both Egypt and Dubai (Dubai is a country in the United Arab Emirates [UAE]).

(betcha din know that HAH)

In egypt, we stayed in Cairo for three nights and shifted to Alexandria for another night. The final night was in the modern city of Dubai. Goodness Dubai is...

If you have a chance to go to Dubai to do whatever form of investment, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE. Dubai would sisley be the mostest modernest beautifulest city in the world when it's complete. 4 sections of reclaimed land, including 3 palms and 1 map of the world would seriously attract A WHOLE DOOFINGLY lot of tourism. Trump has already booked a place for his building to be on the first palm.

And not to mention, an underwater hotel.

Which I think it's stupid la.

COZ IT WOULD BE SO FRICKING MOTHERLY COOL to wake up, look out the window, and open it for some fresh air.

I mean... some air segar. hehe.

There were too many historical and attractive tourist sites to fit into a 6-day tour, so there were lotsa mosques and monuments we just drove by. But it was still a little hectic for the spots we visited. Didn't have time to properly go and test exposure la, composure la, with and without flash la. So I didn't take many photos.

And I didn't listen to the guides much also. warao SEVEN THOUSAND YEARS of history wanna fit into 6 days? God bless them. meh.

I'm not sure if it's a tradition or precaution or suffocation or super station or what, but every building entrance has a metal detector and the baggage check. Even a TGIF restaurant had that! Who would terrorize humanity just for a club sandwich?!

I don't think I can go through the whole itinerary of the trip coz it'll take at least 1234567 posts so I'll just randomly pluck out pictures and label them la hor.

But not now, coz I've got progress test and thesis submission deadline and grooming workshop and classes and homework and music festivals and club & societies week this week and next week! so this post is just an acknowledgment that I'm still alive.

And also to say that I had lunch in the one and only SEVEN STAR HOTEL IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD YEAH BEBEH KAR MARNNN OHHHH.

the Burj al-Arab preliminary lobby.

Okayla gotta go. SO MUCH TO DO. so little time. ciazo cincao.

Haiyak!

My name is Jon without a H. They call me the boy who's in the wrong academic course - I'm doing ACCA. You'll figure out the rest.

I sway in and out of basketball, rock climbing, frisbee and gym-ing as sports, but I always stick to graphic design and photography. My dream is to either start and develop an advertising and design company, or design and implement a revolutionary accounting and control system for a multi-national IT company. Sounds crazy?

Watch me!

Oh, and I'm a massive Taylor Swift fan.
