Blogging from the iPhone!

on Tuesday, January 22, 2008
at 1:17 AM

This is so cool!

Brother came back from work and started installing apps on his iPhone as usual...

And I had an idea! Hehe.

But the only problem I'd that I can't upload any pictures immediately. Have to link from URLs.

But its still cool! At least I can warn anyone of some sort of emergency evacuation if the telephones are down. And just hope for the less-than-100 people whp read my blog, to read my blog.

Wtf.

Anyways, really sorry i've not been able to post anything. Apparently the internet a.k.a. Stream-suggmabollz-myx is acting up lately. I! Be not been able to upload anything anywhere. And that includes e-mail attachments!

Will try from other clients soon.

Patriotism? or Wtf-ism?

on Thursday, October 04, 2007
at 2:49 PM

The blackout last night broke the 12am-onward power supply to my neighbourhood. As far as I knew, the outage had affected the city of Bandar Utama, but as far as the BU 11 Bridge. And the worst part, for me at least, is that I was doing an assignment, and poof, i thought my eyelids closed by themselves. All my work gone in an instant.

I guess no one loved blackouts, but oddly enough, I had a little fun this time. My grandad has been a real handyman throughout his life so he has everything under the sun from an electric drill to a karaoke microphone, to a cameraman vest, to a portable potty.

Over the years he's been passing on gadgets and gizmos to us three as he thouht that these things do not serve him any good at his current age. So he gave as almost seventeen thousand torches and spotlights.

My mom chupped the emergency fluorescent lamp to read her nonsense, but luckily I bathed before that because I would have used soap to wash my hair if I did any later. But anyway. we shined the big torch outside and annoyed the neighbours a little.

It was seriously pitch black in the streets. Could only see a few candles and torches behind the gates of some of the residents. And a big light-gun, of course. Haha it was fun.

But no doubt it destroyed my work and now I have to start all over again. So i'll have to criticize another Malaysian company for bad service. Or low security, for that matter.

Really bullocks man. And tahu pun, tenaga yang BERHAD.

Raya Pao-ings

on Monday, October 01, 2007
at 3:18 AM

A night ago, brother and I were out to buy some supper before watching heroes SE02EP01. We drove around uptown searching for any attractive bungkusable food of which we could get a quick bite, and we thought of some mee from Penang Mari in TTDI, so we turned around and headed there.

As I panicked at the sight of a surprise police road block in the distance, my brother insisted that it was nothing to be afraid of and calmed me down with a quick "JUST DRIVE LA STUPIBOI. There will always be three men shining torchlights to scare the shit out of you. Just sit back and show them your i.d. And also say terima kasih."

So we entered the queue through the one lane exit, waiting for the cars in front to get pass the check when it came to our turn. There were evidently 3 policemen standing there - one to blind the driver with a maglite an ask for i.d, one standing further in front to anticipate any getaways, and one behind to control traffic and open your boot.

There's just a quick lesson in conjunction with this festive season's more frequent police checks. It's called the Raya Pao-ings (Pao, as in to Tah Pao). Corruption goes very far just to earn a quick buck from you when your guard is down. They just have to catch a slight mistake of yours and they slap you with a big "SO?! how brudder? gaimana nak slesai skarang?"

So here's a set of tips to keep you a guilt-free and law-abiding citizen of Malaysia.

1. Seatbelts, P Stickers, and Road Tax

As simple as it says, always make sure that you have your stuff on your windscreen, and your seatbelt in the clicker. They catch you more off-guard nowadays. Some of the highway ronda come side-to-side with you, inches away, and peep at whether you've got your seatbelt on and that there are less than 4 passengers at the back.

2. Be Smart, Not Clever

There is still half of the Malaysian population who turn on their hazard lights while driving in heavy rain. It's quite clear that car lights that aren't permanent (blinking on and off) reduces ability of drivers behind to gauge distance between vehicles in a heavy rain condition. This would prevent unnecessary accidents on the road, thus minimizing the involvement of any officials. Meh.

3. Parking the Malaysian Way

Nowadays the tow trucks come around even more often then they are induced to, outside my college. As said, they just wanna earn a quick buck out of your carelessness, so be wise and make good decisions.

6. No need Fast No need Furious

Speeding is of course another nonessential. Well, driving too slow can also attract attention. So if you wanna have fun, go exhilarate yourself on the Karak Highway and not the North-South one, since they now have cicularisation e-mails of the speed cameras under the overhead bridges.

5. You Can Make a Difference

Lastly, make a decision not to tailgate. Nowadays I've been hearing a lot of stories of people purposely braking to cause a smash up with the tailgater, just for the fun of it. hahahahahaha the though of it makes me roll.

So remember to keep your head up this Raya as they will attack you in your slightest slack. Good luck!

MIFC Finale 2007

on Wednesday, September 05, 2007
at 2:31 AM

(edit)
I just started this fireworks photography ON merdeka okei. I don't have a good camera and I don't work for The Star. =]
_____________________________

Finally I've initiated a little work on a gallery for me to share my pictures. Here's the first sneak peak set. Best of my fireworks shots at Putrajaya.

MIFC Finale 2007

It was a Sunday evening and I had just got out of class.

repeats* It was a SUNDAY evening...

And I had just got out of class...

Yes.

Sunday Class.

So why don't I make this clear. I'm an ACCA student at Sunway Uni College, I have 3 hour-long lectures, night classes once or twice a week, and most importantly, a full 9am to 7pm Financial Reporting class every Sunday. Not in belief? Ask Cynthia.

Ask CYNTHIA lah. Not Jeeves.

But, nah it's not that bad. I've got my Wednesdays free!

So the other car of classmates and I headed down to Putrajaya to see the Finale of the MIFC 2007, and of twenty thousand things to eat around Putrajaya, I decided to eat this very dense, rock-hard, tough, not-chewable-at-all, solid chunk of beef. And worst of all, I had to use a plastic fork and spoon to do it.

Bah Anyway. Here are the other parts of the show.

And make sure you've seen the gallery! Fuah, so proud la first time shoot fireworks until like that.

Then we went to lepak around the Seri Wawasan Bridge for a while. So I took the tripod and Lumix along.

They're all pictures though. Still finding for stuff to blog. So bare with it!

My name is Jon without a H. They call me the boy who's in the wrong academic course - I'm doing ACCA. You'll figure out the rest.

I sway in and out of basketball, rock climbing, frisbee and gym-ing as sports, but I always stick to graphic design and photography. My dream is to either start and develop an advertising and design company, or design and implement a revolutionary accounting and control system for a multi-national IT company. Sounds crazy?

Watch me!

Oh, and I'm a massive Taylor Swift fan.
