I looked at the clock, 12.37pm. I looked at the clock, 12.38pm. I looked at the clock 12.39pm. I looked at the clock, I looked at the clock, I kept fricking looking at the clock to find the right time. It finally came down to this single moment in my decades of study. It could change everything. It could change nothing. All I've worked for the past 3 and a half years, down to this minute, determined by 3 numbers I have yet to discover. All my plans for the next few months, few quarters, few years, depend on these few digits I am yet to be revealed. All of my youth, my studies and knowledge, packed into a few pixels displaying these numerical characters. I couldn't suffer any longer. I scrambled for Mozilla Firefox and rushed to save and close my work in Microsoft Excel. The cursor, shiveringly darting around the LCD screen closing off Photoshop, chat sessions, iTunes... anything to spoil the mood. Anything. I was perspiring in cold sweat, in fear, in nervewreck. I typed in the ACCA Website. Logging into the ACCA student portal, with my 362 000 fellow student accountants jamming up the server along with me, it was the longest, longest 3 minute-wait in my last 6 months. The only 3 minutes that deserve such gruesome adrenaline pumping through my veins, the only 3 minutes that deserve millions of thoughts flooding through my cerebral cortex each second "what's the average this sem?" "how are the others doing? anyone failed anything?" "what am i gonna do if I fail 1 paper? Are all my plans gonna be jumbled up again?" "What are my friends and family gonna think of me if I fail?" what if I fail all 3. The coloured web page flipped to satin white. The HTML loaded from top the bottom, pixel line by pixel line, revealing my name, student number, date of exams, exam centre details.I could feel my vision moving at the speed of light through the entire frame, my heart pumping as if I were sprinting through the last 2 metres of a 100-meter dash. I glanced at my first paper, Corporate Reporting It couldn't be. I passed my Corporate Reporting. ACCA-declared, the most difficult paper in the qualification syllabus. What's next? Advanced Performance Management. This was easy. this could have been tough. did I do well? I did fairly well. Missed out bout 30 marks. That is a shitload of marks. Hell, no.
Holy mother. This is too good to be true. I've passed 2 out of 3. I'm almost there. My last paper, Audit and Assurance. This was my 2nd attempt, at which I had failed 47 marks last semester. Passing mark is 50 for ACCA papers. Did I pass? I squinted into the brightness of the glaring monitor. Did I pass?
 My heart stopped.
I checked it again.
 I started feeling disoriented.
My mind was empty.
I had only one number in it.
Bah. I sighed.
After a few seconds staring at it, it finally hit me that after 6 months of sweating in the library, freezing in the refrigerating exam halls and going to college to study 7 days a week, averaging out 11 hours a day, for 4 weeks, I only increased my audit marks by 1. And a few seconds after, yea, I failed audit. I've learned a tonne of lessons along the way, after 7 semesters of study, 7 stressful exam periods, 7 results days. Of all those lessons, one thing's for sure, the most crucial one. Don't give up. Never look back, never feel down, and never be pessimistic. Even if the numbers burn in your mind, Never give up. That is the true lesson I've learnt from ACCA. Not about numbers, not about memorizing. It's about perseverance. Labels: the accounting stuff

They're called mixed feelings. It always comes when you have to sit in front of the same set of books for a month. My 11-day-in-a-row intensive revisions arrives this Friday. Averaging out at 9 hours a day, what time do I have left to think logically and purposefully. They're called mixed feelings. They are all for you. Not only you, but you there, and you over there... and you too. Coz when I'm closing in on you while you close in on my close ones, it's mixed feelings. I'm talking bullshit again bye Labels: the accounting stuff

don't we just love ACCA? How they keep pounding work in front of you everyday. From homework, to assignment, to OBU project, to mentor's meeting, to homework, to OBU project deadline, to submitting exam fees to ACCA U.K... (inhalessssssssssssssssssssss)(hales hales hales)(a little bit more hale)and then back to progress test. Sometimes it just makes us numb to know what our next 35 years would look like. It's actually not tough you know, as in need to crack open your brain and eat your neurons like isi kelapa tough, but we just need to set aside a lot of time to revise. And to finalize my emphasis on the ACCA course syllabus, WE'RE LIKE LAWYERS AND ENGINEERS.
NOT BLOODY MATHEMAFRICKINGTICIANS.
so please don't say "oh I didn't do ACCA because I don't like numbers." because in actual fact we do at least seventy-two thousand nine hundred and forty-eight percent more theory than we do calculation. In actual fact. Annie weigh' I'm off for my progress test tomorrow till Friday not to forget a frigging shyte presentation to prepare for right in the middle of it all. So please fasten your patience coz the patience sign has turned on. Labels: the accounting stuff

December is a month of celebration with green trees set up indoors, and majestic fireworks at the city centre. December is a period for everyone to relax, savour, and enjoy the taste of reduced stress levels. December is a moment to explore and discover as much of the rest of the world you always wished to visit but never had the time or chance to. Have I Made the Right Choice?
on Saturday, March 31, 2007
at 6:47 PM

Haha nola. This one is just some replacement class. But tomorrow is exceptionally special because we owe Mr. Dinesh 3 lectures, and each lecture is 3 hours. So, come on, kids. let's do some math! Jika kelas bermula pada pukul 10.30 pagi, maka:
10.30am + 1 jam = 11.30am 11.30am + 1 jam = 12.30pm 12.30pm + 1 jam = 1.30pm 1.30pm + 1 jam = 2.30pm 2.30pm + 1 jam = 3.30pm 3.30pm + 1 jam = 4.30pm 4.30pm + 1 jam = 5.30pm 5.30pm + 1 jam = 6.30pm 6.30pm + 1 jam = 7.30pm
Tetapi, waktu tengah hari patut dikonsiderkan. Oleh itu, Jika waktu makan 1 jam diberi, maka:
7.30pm + 1 jam = 8.30pm
10 hours at college. Mahem. That's like ThiaThia jiejie's classes man. Haha but at least mine aren't classES. sure kena sounding from her.
But seriously, the things that ACCA does to its students are just a remarkable work of art. The reason why i chose the word art is because it portrays uniqueness and the ability to make its viewers go So here are some samples. That's actually some ang moh student from A-Levels @Help. But I found this picture quite suitable for this course.
This one's actually that guy who works at Camp5 in 1Utama.
And sometimes, even when you've finished the ACCA course, the horror still haunts you to your working hours at you first job. Hah. don't lie to me. I can sense all your facial expressions now. xD (jamie's insider joke)I'm quite worried about the possibility of parents complaining to the SunwayTES admin about the allocation of lecture hours though. Some incidents have already occurred pertaining to the sudden cancellation of classes. A few more, and we might see some flying molotovs around Sunway College. I think my dad will be the only one supporting such devastating lecture hours. He'll be like "Nyehehehe. Now you get to taste what i went through last time."So, Have I Made The Right Choice?Labels: the accounting stuff

meow.

at 8:34 AM
Over the weekend, we had been deeply revising our subjects for the coming progress test, but everyone knew that there would definitely come a time for a study break. So at 7am on a Sunday, we headed over to Sunway Hotel & Spa to catch a view of the lovely scenery down below at Sunway Lagoon, where girls in black bikinis were sunbathing. Well, yeah. To attend the graduation ceremony too. Welcome to the 2007 Graduation Ceremony for the students and ex-students of Sunway University College, School of Professional Accountancy. As you can see, a very formal event took place on the 15th floor of the hotel, accompanied by flowers and free photo sessions outside the function rooms. But no one could stop Felicia and I from wearing our way cool sneakers! Ms Rozi: "Aiyo! Jonnn! Why you pakai that kind of shoe!" "Kasut ni moden la cikgu... this is the new style.""Ah illah... moden pulak budak ni..."haha nola. she only speaks english to us. To add to the inappropriate attire, I conveniently forgot to collect my robe and hood from college the day before. But it was still okay since they had the changing room ready with the tailors fitting the gowns on the graduates. But to my additional convenience, they had run out of hoods for the CAT graduates, leaving an overloading number of hoods only for the ACCA graduates. Yes, I know I look uncool now. But don't you think I look cute like Little Red Riding Hood ? Except that i'm more environmental-friendly. "no, don't attack me!""meow!"As usual, the SunwayTES admin had less of the skill in improvising on technical difficulties. such as timeliness. But we did! so we take out our deadly camwhoring equipment. Oh, how nice of my parents to come join me. Hmm. unlike some people. Don't even wanna tell me why dowan to go. Ish. KILL YOU! (Our very own Lily Yee Li Yin - World Prize winner for Paper 8 - Implementing Audit Procedures, and Malaysian Prize winner for paper 9 - Preparing Tax Computations) As the students of SunHogwartsWay, School of Witchcounting & Wizardy take their seats in the great hall, the emcee announces the arrival of VIP Guests, which included Professor DumbleTeohEeSing, Professor McGonElizabeth, and the CEO of Ernst & Young, School of Professional Accounting Magic, Professor WhatTheHellWasHisName. Well, i'll leave it to you to wonder what happened in there for that two hours coz it was A BLOODY HELL OF A LONG TIME waiting Hungrily, Bored, and Sleepily. And I couldn't want less to blog about it. Crap man, that's seriously the worst state someone could be in. When we finally got out, more than 99.9% of the people there many were holding their growling stomaches to express their dire need of foooooooood. And omg. Malaysian Food again. gosh. at least put some Roasted Lamb or Caviar la. I mean come on man. they charged us like EIGHTY FIVE BLINKING BUCKS for the lunch set and I think not many people no one ate 85 bucks worth. But getting lecturers on camera was worth it. I've got your picture, Ms Rozi! You can't run away now! NYAHAHAHA. jomi was hereeeeee! gosh, i'm so evil. All in all, everyone, especially the lecturers and parents were distinctively proud of their little graduates. For the CAT Graduates, more is to come for we will have to face the remaining 2 years of hard torture and sleepless nights. of clubbing. haha nola. it's tough. catch yall soon! exams finished
on Friday, December 15, 2006
at 12:57 PM
As the students of the Certified Accounting Technician programme prepare for the final exams, they endure nerve-wrecking stress, long-hard lectures and never-ending putdowns from their parents and teachers, at this point in life, not just to please their parents and lecturers, but also to persevere what they aspire for.

Persistency, Ketidakberputusasaan and Courage were the core values required by the course undertakers of this 12-month programme. Many had lost these values on the way, as they could not possess the strength of belief and the resistance against distractions. As the final exams were nearing, the CAT students had realized the depleting time constraint put on them, as he felt the panic and adrenaline rising in him.
The final four papers where the toughest of the nine, portraying the skill and technicality requirements of a successful and academically-achieving Certified Accounting Technician. At the end of 2006, the CAT students shall be ready.
(just some cool pics from SyUC)
(Okay maybe not this one) (Michelle pic msg-ed me and said "look! DAMANSARA UTAMA MILK!")
And on the morning of my last paper, i found my lucky charm. A fat cat. seriously dem fat.
And my last paper, in the exam hall. sigh. Oh father in Heaven... for all the things that i have done... for the trouble i have caused... for all the mistakes... forgive me... for i have sinned and practised disobedience... for i have rebelled and succumbed to unjust behaviour... for i have wronged many actions... LETMEPASSMYEXAMS! (actually i wanted to see my change in hairstyle from before exams to after. haha now so lala jor. Xd) Well, that's it for all the exam-talk, hope you've enjoyed the boring and monotonous elaborations of a student accountant. _______________________________________ duprom2006 okayla i'll run through the pictures quickly. gotta go for my rock climbing! (which i have been in ages.) This is the car park lift at Rennaisance Hotel.
apparently Marxha looks damn appealling very pretty in her dress in this picture. And you'd be asking, WHAT IS THAT?
haha more like. who. The A-Levels Drama King. Tsong changed from a t-shirt while driving.
And Jon took the wheel. Some skilled drivers we have. Jon said he was in this toilet somewhere, and he pasang flash on his camera. *click* all the taps and urinals flushed simultaneously. (but apparently,) MYTH BUSTED. no flush. The lovely Chong&HunYee.
And the grande chandeliers!
(is that how you spell it)
So jinn and alvin arrived, and... oh. Alvin. your hair... uhh.. GrewShorter. xD TheGateCrashers. that's Kevin, Alvin, Tsong's head, Elisa, Pei Lin's head, Ernest, Jinn and Jon. Yes Pei Lin was like WOI JOMI YOU SEE LA THEY SAID WEAR FORMAL ABIT LAR. Haha we went in jeans a t-shirt. Xd
The trivia session seemed boringly sucky a little less amusing, so the participants took a chance to leave the hall to get some fresh air. And to Jote's advantage, he was is familiar with the form 5s this year, and there he was, having more fun with his f5 dudes, leaving his partners in crime (getkreshers) to rot in the corner.
I'm so gonna get Sarah to keel you. Kidding la. xD

They've got the... uhh.. what do you call that thingo behind all of us... an arch.. yea whatever. they had a flowered-arch entrance, they had little pot bouquets on the tall tables, and more flowery decorations at the registration counter, and the... Yea, basically Kevin took one. Stupid Chinaman.
We occupied the last table at the back of the ballroom which wasn't set up. Wa so ngam got 9 people fit in that table. Eh nola. one table fit ten. hmm. omg. haha. sorry Marxha. There was something about this prom i hated didn't quite understand. When there were performers playing on stage, the hall full of people was actually a hall full of camwhoring and photographing. Everyone was walking around, engaged in their own chatter and excitement, ignoring the stage which, i found a little disrespectful for the live band.
I mean. come on la. Saujana's prom had everyone satisfactorily seated and comfortable, watching a performance on stage. I had dubbed the event to be a little irresponsive on the audience's side, but to my realizing suprise, at least they were seated. Unlike saaarrrrmmmmmm proms. Aiya okayla after the 300 of them come find me and scold me bomb my home. See jae, that's what i meant by Seri Saujana students having good character. xD

We were so bored, (of course bored la, it's not your prom, you stupid dumbass promcrashers) that we played the table-tapping game. You know you know??? Everyone's right hand over the left hand of the person on your right. And the tapping goes clockwise! Double taps mean reverse the sequence, and a knock means skip the sequence! Always remember. it goes clockwise. xD
So that was it, we joined the dancing, lepak-ed, acted cool, took pictures, and went home.
In ernest's car. Whoa. what a mad driver. Haha okayla you don't drive madly. Just. not too bad. But oh well practice makes perfect so once you have practiced alot, you would be perfect! and no one is perfect! so you would be no one! Uhh. Rite. Piss off, Agnes Good night yall.

My name is Jon without a H. They call me the boy who's in the wrong academic course - I'm doing ACCA. You'll figure out the rest.
I sway in and out of basketball, rock climbing, frisbee and gym-ing as sports, but I always stick to graphic design and photography. My dream is to either start and develop an advertising and design company, or design and implement a revolutionary accounting and control system for a multi-national IT company. Sounds crazy?
Watch me!
Oh, and I'm a massive Taylor Swift fan.
